Scoring Social Value in NI Contracts - Supplier Videos In July 2021 the Northern Ireland Executive published Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 01/21. PPN 01/21 mandates that from 1 June 2022 tenders must allocate a minimum of 10 per cent of the total award criteria to social value. This minimum weighting will apply to services and works procurements at or above the thresholds set out in the Public Contracts Regulations - PPN 01/21 - Scoring Social Value | Department of Finance (finance-ni.gov.uk). An information session has been developed for suppliers. The information session sets out what social value is and how it will be scored in public sector contracts. Translink Translink is Northern Ireland’s public transport provider and is the name for the integrated operations of three companies – Metro (Citybus), NI Railways and Ulsterbus. Translink operates services from a network of 21 bus stations and 54 rail stations across Northern Ireland and provides a cross-border rail service to Dublin (operated in conjunction with Irish Rail). The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (GB) The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (GB) offer a free e-Learning course ‘Winning the Contract’ designed to address the small business knowledge gap on public procurement. Although the course is focused on Great Britain the background information is useful for Northern Ireland businesses. Invest NI Invest NI has published two helpful guides for local business on their website. The ‘Build to Win’ publication will help you through the process of deciding whether supplying to the public sector is right for your business. The ‘Successful Tendering Guide: The Tender Process’ provides general guidance on tender submission that apply to the public and private sectors.
