Geological Survey Ireland - A Multi-Supplier Framework for the Provision of Groundwater Monitoring Borehole Drilling Works for CatchmentCARE Project Contractors appointed to the Framework will provide groundwater monitoring well drilling and associated well cleaning works for up to 50 groundwater monitoring boreholes in the border counties in Northern Ireland and Ireland. Works will be focused in three main catchments: River Blackwater, River Arney and River Finn, as well as River Derg see Document 3 Appendix A. The Scope of Works comprises drilling, well cleaning (‘development’) and completion, acquisition of samples, and associated ancillary works. All Works shall be carried out with regard to EPA Advice Note No.14 and the idealised groundwater monitoring boreholes illustrated in Document 3 Appendix H. The scope of work includes the following key activities: 1) Drilling, well cleaning (‘development’) and completion of groundwater monitoring boreholes, for the purposes of determining aquifer geology, aquifer properties, measuring groundwater levels and acquiring groundwater samples. 2) Construction of groundwater monitoring stations. These works are being undertaken as part of the CatchmentCARE Project. The project is supported by the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
