The Arts Council and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland - AC-2026-5 Provision of baseline mapping the art and technology sector across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland The purpose of this contract is to produce an evidence-based, high-level overview of the art and technology ecosystem that will inform future policy development, funding decisions, and potential further research or investment programmes by both Arts Councils. The research will prioritise breadth over depth, providing a representative mapping rather than an exhaustive census of all activity in the sector. The project is exploratory in nature and intended to establish a foundational knowledge base and dataset for future strategic planning. The research will encompass a broad range of practices within the art and technology field, including (but not limited to): Digital arts; New media; Interactive arts; Immersive and technology-driven artistic practices. The research will focus primarily on: Artists and arts organisations working with digital, technological, or immersive practices; Creative technologists working within or in collaboration with the arts sector; Key intermediary organisations, funders, research bodies, and support structures relevant to the sector; Relevant public sector bodies, academic institutions, and commercial technology/creative industries where they intersect with the arts.
