- Ards and North Down Borough Council’s (ANDBC) Economic Development Service delivers a range of employment and skills interventions which are informed by and are responsive to employer needs across the Borough. Recently the Department for Communities provided funding for the establishment of a local Labour Market Partnership (LMP) for which the Council provides the secretariat. The LMP is inviting suitable companies/organisations to submit proposals to deliver a Job-Focused Academy for people with disabilities residing in the Ards and North Down Borough Council area through specific support provided by a suitably qualified team. The aim of the academy is to encourage unemployed or underemployed people with disabilities to obtain skills and qualifications for better employment opportunities. This Project will provide a flexible and responsive delivery intervention which is reflective of current market conditions, changing labour market dynamics, and will align to deliver maximum impact for AND and the wider economy.
