- TEO is seeking to establish a Contract for the provision of a Community Safety Awareness and Outreach programme in the Lurgan CIT Area. Annex A of the Specification of Requirements Schedule provides maps of the designated area. The Contractor will develop and design the programme in a way that ensures it can be delivered in line with work already undertaken to date in the Lurgan CIT Area as part of the CIT Project. Throughout the duration of the Contract, the Contractor will organise and deliver a number of community engagement sessions; establish a Community Engagement Forum; design and deliver a series of education / awareness raising events; organise exchange / learning visits to communities of other areas that have successfully completed similar programmes of work (also designing and delivering information events with the Community Engagement Forum to ensure they have gained / attained a clear understanding and sufficient level of knowledge that will enable them to inform the community of their findings); and work with the Community Engagement Forum to co-design and co-deliver a number of local relationship building activities community that will seek to build relationships between the community and response services within the CIT area. Full details of the specific Contract requirements are provided for throughout the Specification of Requirements Schedule. The expected outcomes from delivering this Contract are: • Increased knowledge and understanding of the local community in the criminal justice system and processes; • Increased opportunities for building relationships between local people and criminal justice agencies; • Have helped to empower local residents and community organisations to address issues related to community safety within the target area; • Increased number of individuals and organisations engaged in community safety initiatives in the area; and • Increased collaborative working.
